My kids were fed from my garden, plus store bought growing up. They ate a variety. When they started school, things changed -- both were influenced by the comments of others. Some foods they ate well before became "ugh" from others. As adults, they're on their own. DS eats a larger variety. DD makes me wonder with more limited tastes. 🤷

I agree, if hungry, they'll eat. Neither of mine like onions. If cooking for them, I am careful there. Garlic is fine 😄 go figure.

i don't understand about not liking onions, we eat a lot of onions here, people we cook for have often commented that we use too many and some people have requested that we don't use any.

i picked some green onions the other day and Mom used some of them in the chow mein she was making but there were some parts still left that i put in ham and cream cheese roll-ups with hot sauce. could eat that a lot more. onions gone. mission accomplished and a happy tummy. :)

The last few children I had were homeschooled so they weren’t influenced by their peers for a long time and when the neighborhood kids came over and I discovered that I needed to get creative to make 2 pieces of chicken stretch out to feed 1 adult and 4 kids, it was a team effort…..okay, you too clear the table and wipe it down, then come back for all the things to set the table, you take this pitcher and put 2 cups of sugar and two packs of kool aid and start mixing, you find two healthy green vegetables that most of us will accept. While I start a cake that will be baking immediately that I don’t need to cool off to frost or some cookies. And the bones are removed from the chicken and a side dish is started like mac and cheese or cream potatoes. Actually what ended up happening is my kids convinced the neighbors that mustard greens and mushrooms are delicious and suddenly they are asking their mom’s to buy it. I usually tried to teach English, math and maybe science while the other kids were away in school cuz after 3:30PM the invasion started and I might teach religion because I knew school couldn’t teach that. Man!!! I did some work!! Makes me tired just remembering it!!
It’s 91F and feels like 96F. I might as well take advantage of it and do a couple of batches of laundry. Apparently my family thinks I’m Wonder Woman. Maybe I am but I sure get tired after a few hours and I make weird noises at night when I lay down and the spasms start.
HG left to visit baby daddy for the first time since she got pregnant so suddenly he is holding a baby that’s going on 9 months old who doesn’t even know him. She sends me this video of him holding her while he is driving and her smiling and all with a caption of MY LITTLE FAMILY. I tell her I hope you didn’t post that anywhere cuz that’s not your little family. She best bring me my baby back soon. Now I gotta wonder if she is being lazy in Baton Rouge in front of the one who kicked her out 18 months ago. Kids!!! And she just vanished without telling me anything about her plans!! Grrr. 😡
I need to play in my house a few hours doing this and that cuz DH already passed the animals and took a shower. Mass at 5:00PM. I still didn’t move into the herb cabinet DH brought home but I can do that at night if necessary. I’m just so glad the back of the truck doesn’t look like a junkyard anymore. I wonder what I can get accomplished.
