We use a rug but I wash it regularly and it needs replaced at least once a year. All the washing wears them out.

Ive actually been looking at hubby's feet too much lately (he's a baby and developed a corn) and I don't think athletes foot is what he's dealing with. It's discoloration but nothing else. Looks like liver spots.

I have used H2O2, and it really clears up any fungus or yeast infections (on the skin), but it can be very drying. I would suggest using a moisturizing salve after applying (let it dry first, of course). I make a salve with Neem in it, which is excellent against fungus of all sorts and it seems to keep it at bay.
