Unless you went hard 1970 with BRIGHT orange!

Men and women definitely have different ideas about what looks comfortable and easy on the eye! The 70s were big on orange, browns and blacks, weren't they? If I had to lean towards an era it would be 30s and 40s with a little slide into the 50s.
Those tables are virtually indestructible! I would also be happy with one of the porcelain topped farm tables.
The floor is the older green speckled linoleum. I like the kitchen. It still has the wall-mounted can opener and the hotwater tank is in a porcelain topped unit, just like my grandma's. Other than being small for my tastes, this kitchen reeks of the 40s. Love it.I like the ideas about the Bible verses. I was going to do something like that on the top board of the window frames in the living room, along with delicate vinings and flowers. Something faint and old-looking.Blackbird said:Bee, here is an example of what my mom did in the bathroom, its pretty easy. She also this in our old bathroom to cover up all the lead paint that was pealing.

Ok, one picture was wrong, sorry.
I think a bluish white might look pretty nice on your nude paint, quite cheery even..
When my grandmother painted her house she stencilled bible sayings and other quotes along stair ways, under window, over door frames and stuff like that, gives it a more unique taste and adds character.
When our friend Jo did her house, she first used tile grout to give it texture, then painted.

Okay.....NOW I'm jealous! No way!My neighbor was getting rid of the old table and I snagged it for $20 bucks at their garage sale.
I can't believe how folks don't want these tables....they are sturdy, cheerful and functional and they last forever!
