Sometimes when someone asks me, "How are you doing?" I reply, "Do you really want to know or are you just being polite?" It takes them aback.
:gig My mom and I bothused to say, "Do you want me to say fine, or do you want the truth."

Now, if someone asks how I am, I tell them. When I get the "I didn't really want to know" look I say, "Next time, don't ask." :gig
Here's my, "Here's what I do" bit.

When asked, "How are you doing?"

I reply, "Compared to what?" :idunno

Since we actually had a pet squirrel for many years named Squee, I have a great respect for the intelligence and tenacity of those wonderful little creatures. I love the idea of the "Squirrel Club" and the challenge is a great idea! I think you should post it out in the big forum as a new thread and recruit!

I am game for your challenge. I just hope I have a more successful year than last year.

I think we need to show the world what we can do - and this pitiful economy is just the place to show our stuff!
Okay, folks! I'll post to the big board~The Squirrel Challenge! It would be really great to have some pics of progress and then end results.

Gee, I thought I was the only one who thought "kindness rudeness" was inappropriate. I once lived in Rhode Island, where they boast of their rudeness and even have chain restuarants centered around rudeness. Its a cultural thing and I came to understand that it is all they have...their only claim to fame...as their little state is unattractive and overpopulated. :lau :hide

But here? The folks are rude in quite a different way....they meet you for the first time and this is the standard questionaire(before they even tell you their names!): What's your full name? Where do you live? Where are you from? Where do you work? Are you married? Do you have kids?

Sometimes it all comes out in one big sentence! Now, I'm as open as the next person, but somehow this cultural inquisitiveness makes my spine crawl! Its so unbearably uncouth that I want to shake them and give them a lesson in manners!!! :P

End of rant....sorry...I've become overly sensitive to any breach in my privacy after living here awhile! :D

How are you? :P
Missed you yesterday, Aly! Where you been girl? Tending your massive flocks? Renamed your hubby "Noah" yet? :D

Perhaps we should all respond to their "how are you?" shallow questionnaire ..

"I am fine, thanks. What color is your underwear?":D

I've seen one of my cousins cry cause he couldn't eat any more of her biscuits with mayo and fresh tomato slices from her garden.
I just HOPE I remember this in August, makes my mouth water just thinking about it.....:drool I never thought of putting a tomato on a biscuit. MAN that sounds good!

I think I've put tomatoes on just about everything! I like them with fried potatoes, biscuits, poached eggs, grits(my mom and I make the creamiest, garlicky grits in the world!), grilled...you name it! I live for the tomato crop!

I wished no one had mentioned it.... :drool

I LOVE fresh little zucchini, new onions, and tomatoes sauteed gently in olive oil with a little salt and fresh cracked pepper! Or a big beefsteak ... still warm from the sun. Or a nice BLT with crispy bacon and a thick slice of tomato. :drool

STOP IT! We are a long ways from those summer beauties.

I am going to go have a glass of tomato juice now.
