It was a cigarette type lighter. Still haven't gone to check the brand out.
The birds all went to auction today, and of course, the price was low today on anything livestockish, and high on pet. Rabbits going for $20 (usually $3-$5), chickens were dirt cheap, but buttons did better than I expected. I was expecting about a dime a piece, maybe a quarter a piece if I was super lucky, but ended up going for a dollar a piece. Chickens went for a max of $0.75, which wasn't so hot for the thirty something that I took down. Of course, I was driving home when I get a message from a guy who wanted a dozen of them, saying that he was once again interested in them at $2/each. Like, really, people, can you freaking CONTACT me in a TIMELY MANNER?! I get tired of hanging onto birds constantly for people who want them, then I get stuck with them for another week, then they decide to back out of it. Since I hadn't heard anything, I loaded them up with the rest of the chooks. Still have fourteen birds down there for another buyer.
I bought a few more turkeys... Seven to be exact, and they're all BBW. I also ended up making a pretty stupid mistake, and came home with 40 cornish x... As much as I said about ordering 25-50 of them, I really only wanted to go over 25 for the price discounts... So, now I have 40 birds, when I was thinking honestly, that I only wanted to raise maybe ten for meat purposes. Going to try to sell them locally to bring back the cost of gas and such (paid $0.95/ea on the birds themselves) Thinking $1.50 to start, then maybe drop a little as I always do. Figure that'll help pay for them and the gas, while still giving people a really good deal.
