Many years ago I started my own company (bowhunting related) with the focus on blade sharpening. I also do blade sharpening (local/regional) I sharpen for the local restaurants and the 91 year old grocery store meat Dept and Deli. as well as farmers markets.

That grocery store asked me If I would bring my my mobile sharpening setup to their store so i could sharpen knives for their customers. The store paid me for my time and offered this service to their customers for free.

It was a very cold day. I was set up in the entrance and could see my breath as I sharpened more than 50 knives for customers. I should have dressed warmer.
I saw some VERY damaged knives come in for repair. Some odd knives too including a nearly 3 pound cleaver.

Below is a little video of what I was able to do to the blades.

I'm not awesome at sharpening. I can imagine having the right tools helps a lot. For years I would sell pigs to a local hunter to use in his sausage making. Sometimes he would butcher here and sometimes he would dispatch them and take them home to finish the job. No matter which way he went - he was "required" to sharpen my butchering knives while he was here, lol. Good guy!
