While foraging for morels this Spring we found this little guy in a holler at the edge of a creek in Ritchie county WV.
He is a eastern newt in the terrestrial Eft stage and yes poisonous to keep predators from eating him.
While researching what he was I found the attached below explaining a little about him.

Never know what your going to find when your foraging he was the prize of the weekend, came home empty handed without any morels.
Im on vacation this week so im hoping to find a few chanterelles last year was a good year for them.
