I have to admit, BB, that meeting your baby would be a big hoot. Maybe we need a thread where we have a "virtual"meeting.

There's free software from Skype.Com that lets you make video calls. Those of us who want to meet in person but live too far away, could set up skype accounts and pm each other with our contact info. I Skype call my brother in Houston,TX all the time. He has a smart phone and takes me on virtual tours of his garden. All you need is good bandwidth, a microphone and web cam.

Ugh. Sorry, Sunsaver, but it's like being at work. Phones. And talking to folk. Ew and cameras. I have a web cam, but they're really meant for nefarious purposes.

Well, i'm a talker. I love talking to people on the phone or in person. I can strike up a conversation with a complete stranger while waiting in line at the store, even though i know i'll never see that person again. I guess it's just a southern sort of thing. During my trip to Chicago i noticed that people don't talk at all, especially on the trains. It was culture shock to me.

Oh I'll chat with anyone. Inappropriately half the time. I haven't gotten all the rules figured out yet.

But I hate phones. Hate them hate them. And hate having to play nice. Pffff.

If auntie did something as stupid as my customers, I'd smack her upside the head and mock her. But no, you have to be all polite and can't call them stupid.

I've actually hated phones since I was little and had a pervert call all the time who'd been watching the house. My first stalker! awwww!!! LOL! He'd call and tell me what I was wearing and what room I was in. He'd call as soon as my dad left the house. Every weekend.

So, phones have just always been an invasive thing to me.

Did I mention I hate my job?

Online, I prefer typing. You can't hear me stutter. And I can delete 3/4 of everything I write

I had a peeping tom when i was a teenager. I heard the bushes rustling between tv commercials late one Friday night. I ran to the back door and threw it open. I heard heavy footsteps running down the driveway into the blackness. "Sick bastard!" I yelled out. My mother thought i was lying: "Who would want to peek at you?"
"Gee, thanks a lot , Mom!"

*laughs* It didn't occur to me to tell anyone. That's lame. He wasn't calling for them, why should I involve them? I was ten maybe?

Abi, I totally agree. I hate phones, always have done. I missed that step in my adolescent maturation process when I was supposed to be on the phone with all and sundry all the time, and I've never caught up I have a cell phone, but only for emergencies, or when we travel, and need to contact friends that we are almost on their doorstep . I never give the number out. DH thinks I am socially stunted, and he is probably right . And skype holds no attraction whatsoever for me. Maybe if I had grandchildren.
I had a dirty phone call once - it was really quite funny. I was living in Germany, and just about the time when DH always called to say that he was leaving work, and would be home soon (newly married ), the phone rang. I was set for English, and so asked the German male to repeat what he had said, please, as I hadn't understood. I'm sure that he thought he had caught a live one as he happily repeated some rather unsavory, nasty things. As soon as I caught the drift I, of course, hung up on him

LOL! My last call center job was the same number as a sex line. 800 versus 900. We got a lot of nasty callers LOL!
