Can I use Powdered Sugar in place of regular sugar in this recipe. I ran out of regular sugar. Bad I know.. LOL

No cook frosting..

1 egg white
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. boiling water

Mix egg white, cream of tartar, sugar and vanilla. Add boiling water and beat with electric mixer for 4 to 5 minutes.

I would say yes, from the look of the recipe. You might need a little more sugar to get the volume/sweetness that you want, so make sure you taste test.

Well I made this recipe with the powdered sugar. I do believe I should have used a bit more.. But oh my, dont put as much vanilla in if you have the real stuff. It is really vanilla strong. Either that or my real vanilla continued to ferment and get even more achohol content. LOL.. Dont try to do this recipe with a mixer you use by hand. It didnt whip up at all. Had to finally whip out the electric hand held mixer. Boy havent used that since Ive been on this site.
