Anyone else read the column in Organic Gardening magazine about canning lids that have bisphenol-A in the process? I wonder if BPA is the same chemical that was recently warned about microwaving baby bottles. According to the article bisphenol-A is an industrial chemical used to make polycarbonate plastics and the epoxy resins that line many food containers. BPA is an estrogenic chemical that can mimic the hormone estrogen. The article did say the food was safe if it didn't touch the lid. Boy, that made me feel better!
