Just took them out of the oven, and we scooped some out and cooled it quick for a taste. Way too sweet, but otherwise fabulous with lots of potential.
Will try it again with half the sugar, and maybe a honey version.

preheat oven to 425
1/2 cup butter
2 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 eggs
1 tablespoon cornmeal ( I used Masa Harina)
1/4 cup raw heavy cream
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell

Mix all together and pour into a plain pie plate or a crust.
Bake at 425 for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 300 and bake
for 40 more minutes.

Sounds good! It's pretty hard to get anything too sweet for me. :D

Since I don't have access to raw milk, let alone raw cream, will this recipe still work with the store bought stuff?

Chemically it wont make a difference in this particular recipe. Just use what you can find.
