Chicks are hatching :)

A day early under a broody hen, which makes me think my timing may have been out. I wasn't expecting anything until tomorrow/Sunday, but when I checked on her now I found 1 completely hatched, 2 external pips and 2 internal pips

Will take and post pics when they're ready. I'm so exited about this! I simply adore chicks, can't get enough of them and this week hasn't been easy, so this is such a welcome distraction.

Patience, lady! They're still in the eggs! I will definitely post pics when they're ready. I can't wait to go check on them in the morning. I hope they're done hatching by then.

Awesome! I love chicks hatching.

Sometimes they do come early under broodies. Some of those broodies run hot!

hey!!! baby chicks, i love baby chicks. unless one of the hens does something stupid I'm out of the chick business for this year. my youngest are about 6 wks old now. I've cleaned and put the incubator up for the season. sigh, oh, did i mention i love baby chicks

I have 2 weeks to go for my last batch. Then I'm done for the year.

Our duck momma still has about 2 weeks to go. I don't know the exact day she started setting them as I was flat on my back with a slipped disc and no one else thought to note when she started... but I have a general idea.

@Britesea Ouch! How are you doing now?

I went and checked on momma and all 5 hatched! Lots of kissing and cooing going on in the coop this morning LOL I'll go take some pics a bit later when the light is better.

Oh, I can do this every day! I love hatching, especially under broody hens and that hen is the sweetest thing. She doesn't peck me and doesn't mind too much if I mess with her chicks. And she goes broody all the time.
