When I can meat, I find that the jars are difficult to clean. Any suggestions?

Do you Boil them? Automatic dishwashers don't do very well on protine.

I usually just use a dish rag and/or soda. I can't reach more than half way down. Obviously, I should get a brush, but I wondered if anyone had a suggestion for another way or a specific type of brush.

I started using the wide mouth for meat just so I could get my hand inside to clean.

Scotch-Brite pad and the handle of a wooden spoon works for me.

We do the same when possible. Harder to find the wide mouth jars anymore but well worth having them for these types of things.

Really? 90% of the jars available here are wide mouth. It can be hard to find the regular lids here sometimes.
