My chickens love beans!

Slept in this morning....uh I should re-word that. I stayed in bed a little longer than usual - sleep was hard to find. Rough blood sugar night for DH - which actually means it was rough for me. He sleeps - I monitor. Coffee is awesome! Oh, and we discovered, through the process of elimination, that caffeine is now playing havoc with his blood sugar. Decaf for him from now on. He's devastated!

you may need to wean him off it gradually because caffiene withdrawal headaches really can suck.

I found a couple tubs I forgot I had. About 4 gallons of pinto beans and 2.5 gallons of lentils. Gamma lids on tight so just sat there pretty neutral.

I know the beans would have to be soaked and pressure cooked or long simmered. Just not sure worth it.

pre-soaking beans is not required, but a lot of people do it anyways because it can reduce some of the compounds that your body would have to cope with. my body doesn't care, there's no difference to me at all if i soak beans or not.

He's only been drinking 1/2 caf for weeks now so I don't think it will be too bad. And, with his blood sugar over reacting to caffeine lately - he's off cold turkey. I'd rather him have a headache than damage his organs with high blood sugar. Just the way it is...

I've been through my fair share of tornados. But I can't ever remember being under a PDS Tornado Watch.

Coffee is ready, almost done with my second cup. Then outside to feed Spot the bottle lamb, feed the two ewe crews and rams. Then walk out to the road to see if I can get out to go to church.

Gonna rename this place…..right now it’s TX Bent Road Ranch…… thinking it oughta be called The Sheep Swamp
