I am re- redoing where I put the compost bin the other day. And holy!cow when I moved the pallet away from the pile on the right , 4 rats came out and a fifth after moving the last one

I looked into it closer and I do think these were Voles and not rats. They hardly had a tail and did have round ears

Rats, mice and vermin are why we don't compost anything that's food. Chickens and turkeys love food scraps though.

We dont have good dirt, we have to make soil. I also dont want to be dependent on commercial fertilizer.

A friend brought me a small window AC, it’s in living room window. I slept on fold out sofa bed. Luxury. I’ll get new AC Friday or Monday. Had my 2 cups of coffee, time to get moving.

Well, up and at um'
I have a indoor and outdoor list of chores for today and I need to go to costco.
I think I'll hit sprouts first and then costco since they dont open until 10, Lows is close so I want to check out the plant section. costco have a great price on bagged organic soul. I think I want to put squash in grow bags. I want to seed yellow, zucchini, acorn and pumpkin, I also have sponge gourd. So 5 more bags of soil.

I drug my son with me a couple of weeks ago when that soil was on sale. I managed to coax him to load up 6 bags for me. Cheaper than anywhere else at that price.
