Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Even out here, we are not to plant outside yet. They say to wait until after Mother's day and when the soil warms up a bit. Otherwise the veggies get stunted by the cold.

I'm going for next weekend to get some things planted. Unlike all your rain, we've had to start up all the irrigation. :(

Well... I suspose I made that dirt right. This is the dirt photo I showed the cashier.

This is what she charged me and I didn't even say a word. $2.00, exactly what I owed.

She called out on the radio customer coming out for 1 bag of dirt. I said no I won't be picking that up. And I explained to her what happened yesterday. She laughed and said if only everyone we're so honest. The she grabbed the radio and said cancel that 1 bag of dirt.

BUT WAIT, There's More!

I walked out without paying for a 5 quart jug of full synthetic motor oil, it was in the basket of the long cart. I forgot about it and noticed it when I was loading up farm truck with weekly feed bags.. I'm like seriously? I asked Mr. Almighty, is this a double test? So I walked my butt back in the store carrying a jug of oil, stood in line again and paid for it.

Thankfully, I'm going to stay away from the farmstore for another week. When I have to go back for my weekly feed.

Oh brother. I am a doofus with too much on my mind. 5 hours into my adventures outside today, work on the new butterfly garden, stuff trimmed up, garden work, and mowing. Mind you, the grass is about 2 feet tall. Because I was out of my usual mowing pattern and the tall grass, I lost track of one of the last lawn obstacles from the previous owner (septic cover with two big rocks). I was getting tired and didn't trim around it first, should have gone full stop before I hopped on the tractor. But no, now I have an inoperable mower deck beyond my ability to repair.

The tractor, chipper and 12 ft trailer is pretty long. FB helped me hook it all up 😍. It just dried up enough to run the tractor in the yard without rutting up the yard. But FB told me it's supposed to rain the next several days :( I only chipped two piles so far from the ice storm and tornados, I have several more piles to chip. The split fire PTO chipper is a beast. My Dr. Said exercise to the point of rapid heat beat and shortness of breath daily. Well no problem with that running this set up. I ran it with the tractor in engine idle and never heard the governor kick in. I threw some pretty big banches in there also. Mud bug is 85 HP, the chipper is rated for 50 HP or greater.

The goal is to never have to buy wood chips again. I think we'll meet that goal.
