I'm on marsh and that's the only reason my grass isnt brown yet. Had moisture for longer. It's starting to turn in spots. After I mow it will all probably turn and go dormant until fall.

The sides of the highway scare me right now. That's where many fires start up here. Dry grass to blackberries and scotch broom. Then it burns the trees

Packing up to take parents stuff. So much that they cant get where they live. Eastern Oregon isnt exactly big city type stuff.

We have the Costco Business Center that carries things they want or need. Mom didn't have an Hmart order this time.

Plus the eggs. She'll get 8 dozen silkie eggs since I only have silkies right now. Not the best layers but it's eggs she can actually eat. Equates out to 4 dozen large eggs for her recipes. Will hold her until next trip. She has a wheat allergy so has to make her own stuff with pretty much no exceptions.

Note to self... find a new weather website. This one has done gone plum nutty. I should have seen it coming when they implemented hCAPTCHA. Actual high temperatures in the low 90's, but no mention of that. Just the "Dangerous" "heat index values".

Issue Date: 428 PM CDT Wed Jun 18 2025
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

DAY ONE
Tonight A few strong to severe thunderstorms remain possible through sunset. Damaging winds will be the main severe concern, but large hail and a brief tornado cannot be ruled out. Additional thunderstorms will be possible late this evening and overnight, but they are not expected to be severe. A Lake Wind Advisory continues for much of the Quad State through 7 PM.

DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Thursday through Tuesday Dangerous, prolonged heat and humidity will arrive Saturday and continue through at least Tuesday. Daily peak heat index values of 100 to 106 degrees are forecast with only limited relief at night.

I'm south of The Porch, and yes, my pastures are browning up. We don't get any measurable rain until late fall. We are used to brown as a color. Where Hinotori lives is in a drought classification.

"On June 5, 2025, the Department of Ecology (Ecology) issued a Drought Emergency Declaration for 19 watersheds that include all of Whatcom and Skagit counties, and portions of Snohomish, King, Pierce, Lewis, Thurston, Okanagan, Chelan, Clallam, Jefferson and Ferry counties."

I don't see Kitsap county in this declaration. Nor mine in Clark County.
Yep,, no declaration but common sense says — ya we are in a drought and someone need to turn the bur ban on for this county,, July 1 is tradition but,, HELLO ✊ ✊✊ anybody home???

Does this mean she has issues with eggs, as well as wheat? She uses alternative flours?

Store eggs make her sick. Hunby had a friend with the same issue.

Mom uses alternative flours. Quite a bit of glutinous rice flour as the rice flour pick. It's texture helps hold everything together. All asian rice flours are ground super fine. She used to get sweet rice as well. She likes sweet potato starch for breading fried food.

She has some issues with Xantham gum but Guar gum is fine.

The wheat is an all around allergen for her. Wheat harvest about kills her and there are no close fields. Dry land wheat is a major crop there and dust hangs all over. She grew up with wheat grown in the fields by their house. No issues until adult
