Humming birds make hay/grass nests here. But I will take a humming bird attach any day of the week verse our resident pleated woodpeckers attack. You haven't lived until you've been attacked by a hummingbird. I didn't even notice the nest until she kept attacking me. I was pulling down the next branch to get pictures of the leaves.

Not been attacked by a woodpecker. We only see red-breasted sapsuckers regularly. They are so annoying because in spring the males like to hammer on metal to call for a mate. As promised my initial thoughts. These aluminum filters are nice. Not heavy duty but not light duty either. They arrived in perfect condition. I'm showing just one but they are both the same just differnt sizes.Everyone probably responds differently. But (my) initial clue is when I suddenly get cold. Makes no sense when your burning up to suddenly get cold. But I've discoved that's my body telling my brain to take a break, hydrate and cool off. I have to be really self conscious of this clue. If I don't pay attention it can get more serious pretty quickly.
FB and I had to clean the coils and squirrel cage fan inside the heat pump last night. The exchanger is in the attic under non insulated tin roof. You already know how hot that can be. I was so NOT looking forward to it. Well Mr. Almighty sent a heavy down pour about an hour before we started. That and the setting sun under cloudy skies, cooled off the attic to be bearable to work inThank You Mr. Almighty
We cut and framed a second man hole in the ceiling right near the exchanger. Made a big mess to clean up. But now, servicing the heat pump will be a cake walk insead of crawling 40 some odd feet through the attic to even get to the exchanger.
Iworking with FB. She asks lots of questions, makes suggestions, makes me think of things I never would have thought of. She is very observant, we learn together. Plus she's just plain beautiful to look at
. Most people would call HVAC company for a service call. Nah... if something needs fixing, we first try and fix it ourselves and save $$$.
I've grown tired of replacing filters for this unit. They aren't cheap and are single use throw away. Seems like a big waste of money to me. Especially since we use the building for multi purpose, which can and does create a lot of dust. So I ordered permanent washable aluminum filters for heat pump. It'll be my first time using them, I'll let you know what I think about them when I receive them.
