Lovely mid 70 today, 64 overnight. Windows left open. Plus a nice breeze. It's amazing🤩 grass drying so hope to mow later. Weather people suggesting rains Sunday. Erin is hundreds of miles off coast & north of us. I only saw overcast, misty rain on occasion & mild winds -- all good results.

Installed a new toy today. Includes a lightning detector. The friend I visited last week has an older model setup and I liked it a lot.

Now the wife can sit in the air conditioned kitchen and see the heat, humidity, and UV index as I toil away outside.

Pecking away at things, 10 front end loader scoops to level the ground around the septic tanks (was very unlevel prior to the issues). Topsoil leveled, seeded, and I am taking a break in shade watching the water sprinkler do its thing

I have one of those, it was a gift. It's been 2 years ago and it's still in the box. I need to get a decent steel pole for it if I don't it will just get broken in the crazy wind we get around here. Just keep forgetting about it, not real high on the priority list 😞

I made the treadle feeders harder to open. Rats cant open now. They are starving. When i put down some feed for the recently ill and the mostly blind hen, rats braved me to try and get some. Played whack a rat for a bit, then baited the ratinator. 26 in 15 minutes

WOW!! That's a herd of them. Unbelievable numbers -- have they always been like this? Insane😳😖 you've been feeding them well. And they multiply sooo fast!

Enjoying my fresh pot of coffee. Thinking on plans for this week, while I'm home. Weather will play a part in what gets done. Couple days will need to do house chores, pack up some canners, jars, pots, etc. Made seasoned, spreadable cheese last night -- will package smaller & freeze today. Another batch of cajeta this morn and some mozzarella later in week. Use this milk! Fences & winter prep to work on outside. Sounds like I'm filling up my week! 😋 Need to make dental & eye exam appts.
