A "chicken party" is when a bunch of people get together, bringing their poultry, and learn/help in butchering their birds.

We were going to take 10-15 chickens to Simla mid August but the people I just sold my last two baby goats to said they (ok, HE) would "help us" butcher chickens. He has experience as long as you don't mind the skin being ripped off (saves the plucking part). He's willing to learn how to do ducks (hint hint WZ). Will do all for a nominal fee (maybe $2.00 a chicken and a little more for ducks).

Where: Rural Elizabeth, CO (about 1 hour SE of Denver)

When: not sure yet (probably a Saturday)

How much: see above

What to bring: Hmmm... I don't really know. I'm gonna run a hose from the backyard to the front, where we'll do this near my workshop on a grassy area. I have some plastic sheeting we can put down. I have some boards I'll cover with more plastic sheeting. Any other ideas?

Actually, with this hot weather, maybe I should schedule it for September. Thoughts?

E-MAIL me if you are interested (or post here), and if enough people show interest, we'll schedule it.
