hmm. Samhain? not much.
Halloween? CJ is going to Rocky Horror Picture Show with a friend 30 miles away and taking the oldest son of the city librarian and his girlfriend with

I'm working, so I'm dressing up for halloween and then not doing much. I should do something for Samhain though, I'm trying to get connected to myself.

What are you doing? For that matter, what is anyone here doing for Samhain or Halloween?

I'm not doing squat. I am so out of it lately. It referring towards ANYTHING.

Actually I have a couple things planned, I think it will just depend on my mood as to what level gets accomplished.

I'm actually re-arranging my internal clock. My hours aren't very feasible so I'm gradually going full circle until I get to the right time. So currently I wake up at around 7:00-8:00 PM and go to bed at 10:00-11:00.

It's getting to my bedtime now!

The goal is to wake up at 9:00 AM. I can easily set a clock to wake me up, but waking up to an alarm sets a terrible mood and ruins my entire day.

I'm the same way! I hate alarms! I'm usually up by 8 at the latest anyways so its not generally an issue

It's terrible enough to be woken up when you are not ready. It's worse when it's by a person. And it's even worse when it's by a machine that does nothing but bleep repeatedly. (though I've been woken up by people in a similar fashion)

I used to have mine set, months ago, but by the time I would wake up, it would be hours later and I'd have no recollection of wandering over, turning it off, and stumbling back to bed.

Ok, so update, news, and fun

So we made it back home from MT ok. Freaking too long in a car though!
Mom and William had a small (five people ) ceremony at the house on Monday, so that was good. William is now on oxygen. His left lung has essentially collapsed and fused into one large mass of dried up lung and cancer
They are taking each day as it comes and enjoying themselves while they can. They are heading to the big city later this afternoon/evening because tomorrow he has a biopsy appt for the lung.

We have a broody! One of the Mille Fleur Bantam Cochin Hens (either nutmeg or clover, not sure which) is sitting on a nest! So, she was in there and sitting and everything, so I put two eggs in with her and she stuck them under her! So, she is sitting on three eggs, one of hers, on easter egger, and one other (not sure who, so many of them lay the sameish brownpinkish eggs oooh, maybe the aussie? ) and then if she lays again then I suppose it will be four! So, I am going to mark yesterday as the day she started incubating and we will see if we get anything out of her! ****! do I need to put a lamp in there? its kinda dangerous isn't it? hrm

The dog and the cats are doing well. I got an email from the Boulder Valley Humane Society, it has a printable coupon for a free dog or cat for now until the 31st. They are trying to win grant money from the ASPCA. And, they have Australian Shepard/Great Pyr crosses!! 2 month old puppies!! and they'd be perfect! Both breeds are non hunters and are herding/guard dogs so it would be perfect!! and I know I shouldn't!! But I wanna I wanna I wannnaaaaaaa
Ok, i'm done with my temper tantrum

Because our "cluster" (kinda like a mini district) for work did so well this past year, each store in the cluster was given $1000 to do with what they wanted. So, the stores got together and had a party at Dave & Busters last night. God that was fun! CJ had to work, so I took my other wife Jean with me Who knew those shooting games could be fun? We are making plans to get a wii so I can have a game like that! Cause, that way I'll have something to do in my five minutes of spare time! I was also a very bad person, I had everything on the buffet, AND IT WAS ALL GLUTEN FREE!!
AND I WON'T HEAR ANYTHING DIFFERENT!!
They also gave each employee an ipod shuffle! Is that cool or what? I've never gotten anything this cool from an employer before! And I've been perfectly happy with my paychecks and benefits!

Ok, so that was longer than I expected it to be so I'll wrap this up!

I forgot to mention, all my weatherization efforts paid off on the coop! It rained heavily while we were gone and it didn't leak!
now I just need to put a slant on the roof so it don't cave in from snow!

Yay on your rain-free coop, and you don't need a lamp in there. A good broody will keep her chicks perfectly warm when they need warming up...that is the beauty of a broody hen. No work for you! Yay!

Yay on the rain free coop! Isn't it weird for a hen to go broody this time of year? I don't think I'd put a heater in the coop, though. What about insulating where she's sitting more, like with hay bales around her to hold her body heat in?
