Colowyo - grudgingly settling in :P

Yay! I have a source of cattle panels for my hoop pen, or even a couple! they had pigs, and the fencing is still there! All I have to do is take it apart, and drag it across the yard from my inlaws! :woot And, bend some of the "wire" back into place. :smack

Now to take care of the ducks! stupid ducks. stupid messy ****ty ducks. :smack aww, but they are cute as hell :love still stupid though :smack

When people ask me why I don't have ducks I always say they are too messy. What ... ducks messy! :lau :lau

Ohhh, messy ducks. Gotta love em tho...I just love my ducks...mud and all! :love

I have 2 sons 16 months apart. After raising those two the whole concept of mess is judged by an entirely different yard stick :D

Besides, the ducks aren't making messes, they are creating fertilizer for you!

lol, 'Zilla I will give you that. I cleaned out their brooder today and took some of their bedding stuff, put it in the bottom of one of those long planter things, put dirt on top of it, watered it down really really well, mixed it all together, and then planted celery in it and left it outside :) We'll see if that does anything for me :)

Are you going to stand in it thinking you'll grow a little too? ;) :P

I've phased out ducks. We tried making ours live out by the pond but they kept coming back wanting to be with the chickens. I figured I'll give us a little non-duck time and then make a nice little duck house with some security by the pond. Last year we fenced in a huge area including the pond for our cows so hopefully the cows will deter most predators.

I have always thought a little floating dock with a house on it - IN the pond would be the best trick for safe ducks.

lol, i don't think people would like it if I grew even more than I already am :P
family members on all sides tend to be on the shorter side

Lol FF If we had a pond I'd do that exact thing! As it is, I'm simply going to put them in a hoop house and move them like everyone else. Get them a small kiddie pool from cheapmart *ahem* i mean walmart and leave it at that :)

So, here are some pics of the ducklings in their new brooder home. All the bird babies are out of the house :) The chicks are in the outdoor brooder and the ducklings are in the shed :) the ducklings are Khaki Campbells but they look more like chocolates. :hu
