Several days ago (two weekends ago to be exact) we made several batches of Peach Jam. I made good peach jam

it set and sealed all in half an hour. So, I've decided to share the wealth with people I won't be seeing anymore because of the move. So yesterday I had my 3 month cleaning with my dentist. The funny thing about my dentist is I've only met her once. Every other time I've gone I get handled by a wonderful lady who does the cleanings and such. So, I took her a jar of jam, and she was happy for it

I also took a jar to the billing lady because she has always worked with us on payments and making sure the insurance pays and whatnot. She was so excited to get that jam

There was a highschool girl standing near her desk and she started asking me questions about it and I answered her. After I left, I got to thinking that it might be fun to teach Bill (not her real name

) and her daughter to make peach jam so I called SO to make sure it was ok and then I called Bill. This was the conversation:
Me: Hey Bill it's Matthew! Was that your daughter there with you today?
Bill: No, that was the dr's daughter.
Me: Oh, thats too bad. I was going to suggest if that was your daughter that the two of you could come by on Monday since there's no school and ya'll are closed and I could teach you how to make peach jam.
Bill: Oh! Well, shes not my daughter but I would LOVE to learn how to make peach jam!
Me: Would you like to bring some peaches on Monday and I'll teach you how to make peach jam?
Bill: That would be awesome! Oh, I've always wanted to learn how to make jam, this is so great!
so, I gave her my number, and she's supposed to call to finalize plans

I told her to bring peaches and I would supply everything else, including jars, lids, bands and pectin. Jars and bands we have in overabundance, lids and pectin aren't that expensive when you are teaching someone something new
The funny thing is, when SO and I were making peaches that Sunday we got into a rather large argument. Not because of the peaches, but because he is experiencing major issues with the fact that he always thought that he would be the stay at home person and his partner would be the major bread winner. Instead, especially with this move to kansas, it looks like there's a good possibility that I am going to be staying at home, cooking, cleaning, etc while he does the work. The thing is, he enjoys his work, and he would be bored out of his skull at home. I'm getting more and more tired of dealing with retail stuff. And, I'm really starting to enjoy cooking meals and making jam. I want to try making pickles if I can find cucumbers on sale

But, after we calmed down, and he was telling me some of this, he told me that he is seeing a time when he will be managing his own store somewhere, and I'm doing something where I teach classes a couple days a week at the local community college on canning, jam making, raising chickens, making cheese, etc

I kind of like that to be honest

And I enjoy teaching. I need to teach myself sauces too
