I know right?! What is even better is I am looking at being a kennel technician at the humane society in Lawrence, Kansas when we move there. Wondering if I shouldn't hold out for something different :rolleyes:
 
Take any job you can get and then keep job hunting if you want something better. Not a lotta jobs going round :)
 
Ya, especially in a college town. Potentially a lot of kids wanting jobs for the school year...but a lot of them only wanting to work 2 hours a week, too. :lol:
 
Even worse for kids. They'll think jobs are fun. They aren't. It's like school. You do get paid, at least, but the rules are even stupider.

A manager of a large grocery store told me that the parents ask their kid to please find a job to help with the expenses of send said kid to college. He said that when they apply, they ask for just two hours a week. That way, mom & dad think they're putting forth the effort but can't get any more hours because of all the other kids wanting jobs.

And then it's party time! and ramen noodles so they can afford to buy beer. :lol:
 
:lol: I know the wrong people! No one I know can afford helping their kids at all. It's scholarships, work, and grants, or don't go. Either way it means a full time job. Imooto worked 3 part time jobs while going to school.

Don't know if this will help with organizing while moving, but I have found (through a gazillion moves) that labeling every box really helps. The more time I have, the more detailed my scribbles are (LR- CD's/movies/misc), at the very least, I mark what room I will want them in, in the new house. Plus I not only mark the top, I mark at least one side.

THAT! People who help me move giggle at how OCD I am, but my unpacking is a very smooth process.

Also, be sure no box is too heavy!!
 
Another way to pack is to put rarely used stuff in boxes together. If you don't need to unpack the box in the first 6 months, get rid of it then.....

DW and I have had to pack and move twice during our marriage. Don't know if the marriage could survive a third moving experience.... :D
 
I write which room it came from on each box. Then if you have helpers, they can just put boxes in the right room and I can figure out later where exactly I want to put it.
