I'm trying to figure out how much it costs to make my soap, but I'm having a hard time figuring how to convert the 3 L bottle of olive oil to oz (weight, not volume). :barnie Can anyone help?

Ok, I found that 1 L= 920 g=32.45 oz. I hope that's right. Now does anyone know how many lbs is in a gallon of palm oil? I'm guessing a little less than 8 lbs?

Ok, well Wiki said one gallon of olive oil weighs between 6.68 and 7.68 lbs. :/ I guess I'll just estimate!

Litres to grams/ounces depends entirely on how dense the liquid is.

Water compares straight across--1L of water = 1Kg

Oils will be different. When making soap, you need to weigh every ingredient to ensure that you have exact measurements.

Sorry I'm no help on the specifics you've asked about, I just make the recipe I know :hu

Thanks Moolie. I don't have a problem measuring for the recipe, I'm just trying to figure out how much it costs to make each batch. I've got a "close enough" figure for now I think. :D
