research "Crown Land Patent Grants" Apparently the goverment/township has NO rights to our propeties...no mineral rights no nothing...you can go to the MNR and get a copy of your land patent and no one an tell you what you can and can't do anymore... VERY interesting!

I often wondered that when we lived up north and had those 80 acres. We were told we had timber and mineral rights. And we were like, what. ... If we don't have timber rights, that means someone could come onto OUR land and start logging? We were never really clear about it, but our lawyer told us not to worry about it.-- That no one could come on our land and cut it down.
