No we don't really get hurricanes but do get some nasty winds with gusts that might come close to tornado strength-usually just f1. Occaisionally we've had funnel clouds but don't usually touch ground. If you have alot of trees near anything important ya may want to consider as future firewood. Trees are pretty, trees are green, trees make shade, BUT trees are heavy and come down with a big crash.

Funny story about those big, green trees. When I first moved here, I put up a nice sturdy fence made out of those "hog" panels on one side of my property. That night, during a wind storm, a big tree crashed down on to one of the panels and turned it into a big metal V. The rest of the fence around my property is still hot wire b/c of those trees. I can just snip the hot wire and yank it out from under the fallen trees and rewire it back together. I learned a lesson for sure!
