DH is seriously tractor shopping again. Mixed feelings about that. How many tractors do we need?

Hens are doing well.

Sheep ultrasound and exam says highly unlikely to be pregnant. Mixed feelings again there!

Waiting for spring to come...

We have a Tractor (Kuboda with cab) and a tractor (John Deere garden tractor).
The Tractor has a backhoe and a radio; the tractor has the snow blower, lawn mower deck and a sleeve hitch for the single bottom plow, the disc and drag.

we have an old Craftsman riding mower/garden tractor. Unfortunately with Sears going under, it's almost impossible to find the attachments for it anymore.

First of the hospital bills are coming in. DH found a tractor that was just about right. But I suggested, hey, let's make sure Baby isn't going to be a NICU baby and wait a couple months. He's looking for a tractor with a loader and capable of moving round bales.

He found a rototiller on CL, nice condition, only $350! Whew! Saved a bunch there!

It occurred to me last night that I never verified gender of either of my rabbits. oops! Hoping for no surprises there!

Eggs were piling up in our fridge! Fed 18 to critters. Used about a dozen for breakfasts. About another dozen trying new eggy recipes. Gave 6 dozen to DH's employees. 2 dozen to my mom. 4 dozen left in the fridge.

that sounds like a good amount of options for a tractor for the farm. I would want the same thing.

I finished my online CE class. The next series starts in 2 weeks, not sure if I will take one or what it would be. Possible medical terminology. Just 'cause.

I'm entertaining myself with hosting a Pi Day party (3/14/15) for my pie-loving and math-nerd family. It's perfect timing, as my son is supposed to be learning to about circumference. I'm running with that and incorporating all his recent math and science topics into a Pi project - algebra, metric units and conversions, organizing data, making a graph (on the computer), data variability (range), middle trending in data (mean, median, mode), circumference, area.

Today, he is measuring and recording the circumference and diameter of circle items in the house. Next we'll look at the relationship between them (circumference is 3x diameter plus a little bit - that's Pi). Then calculate circumference divided by diameter to find out what the remainder is. It will vary because... 7 year old measuring stuff... Calculate the mean, median and range of the date. Then plot the data into a scattergraph on the computer, and HOPE he did a good enough job that the trend line is similar to Pi.

Then work backwards to rearrange the equation to solve for circumference. (whew, I finally got around to his ACTUAL math lesson. ). Practice solving the equation. Then move onto other calculations that use Pi (area of circle, surface area of sphere, area of cylinder). Gosh, with using Pi so much, we should really memorize some of those digits...... And that's when I'll tell him about Pi Day OF THE CENTURY! He will be so excited!

Can I drag out this lesson for 9 days? lol He'll be so excited for new material, he'll fly through it lightening fast. This is pretty much end of the year project. He only has one unit left. Considering he just started 5th grade math at the beginning of January, that's an incredible pace.
