Lovin' The Homestead
I was very disappointed when my dil did not reseed itself last year. It had for the last two years and so I was sad when it didn't come up this spring. I was just outside pulling weeds from the grass (yes, I hand pull a lot of them) and hunting goats-head seeds when I pulled out a fernlike plant. All of a sudden I got a whiff of dill. Confused, I looked down at the "weed" in my hand and sniffed it. Sure enough my dill HAD indeed seeded itself last year, it was just in my grass and not in its normal place. I'm guessing that the seeds released in a particularly windy day as they are a good 5 feet from where it normally sprouts.
