following Cassandra's post re: master gardener, does anyone know what the equivalent to the county extension office is inn Canada?

I hear it mentioned all the time on BYC and a few times here. Just curious...

MTN, I did an internet search and found they are called County Agricultural Extension Agents.

Seems to me that extension offices/agents are affiliated with whatever local agricultural colleges/universities you may have. I believe, in the States, the local school has an extension in every county within the state . . . not sure how that applies in Canada . . . ?
