I really do not miss cattle at all. I have had them semi trample me. We have fixed elecltric fence in the rain. I have had manure in my mouth. On my hand. In my hair. On my ear. Thats why chickens are my favorite farm animals :love
Hehe, chickens are awesome! Just as long as you don't walk underneath the perch at night... :plbb
Ducks are awesome as long as you dont stand behind them after they've ate! Its bad.....trust me :sick
OOOSH...! :( I've had broilers do the same thing to me! When I pick them up, I always turn the butt side AWAY from me!

Perhaps it's a self-defense thing. :plbb

Ah, the education I'm obtaining on here.

Indeed it is! Once you get used to the smell... :sick

I worked in a spinal cord rehab hospital. Animal poop is easier to deal with than C-Diff ANY day.

" 'tis better to be shot at and missed, than sh!t and hit." :D :D :D

Whoo, past few days have been interesting!

Puppy has a bad habit of running too close to the stock. We went to a herding clinic on Sunday to learn how to stop that. I learned a lot. So, yesterday, when the goats escaped, I knew exactly what to do to keep him at a suitable distance. He did beautifully! He's really shaping up to be a dynamite herding dog! So proud of him, and myself! And my goaties, for putting up with him. :P

We had a brief warm snap, and most of the snow melted away, enough so that I could take Puppy for a long walk. I took a break to climb up an apple tree, and the next thing I know, he was following me up! Yes, dogs can climb trees! :clap

So far, this week has been :thumbsup, if slightly uneventful. However, just got the seed catalogs, so garden planning begins!

I love watching herding dogs work!

My dad had a hound that could climb trees.. her name was Popsicle lol

Now that I have 3 goats, I should look into teaching the dog to herd them. Unfortunately Blossom loves to head butt the dog and said dog is now afraid. I have gotta fix that. :/
