California News (KFSN) -- USGS said there was a prelim 6.5 magnitude earthquake 22 miles West of Ferndale in Northern California.
It was 27 miles Southwest of Eureka, Calif. in Humboldt County.
The earthquake was epic entered off shore in the Pacific. A tsunami warning has not been issued for coastal California cities.
The quake happened at around 4:30p.m. Saturday. There have been three aftershocks since at 3.5, 3.7 and 3.8 magnitude.
Reports of damage or injuries are unknown at the moment

I only felt one earthquake when we lived in California, and it was at 3:15am - the noise woke me first, sounded like a bomb had gone off and then the entire house shook, for probably only 15-20 seconds, but it felt like a LOT longer.. .I was terrified!
