Easter on a budget

My family isn't religious in the slightest so we didn't go to church or observe anything. Easter was for my brother mostly, some candy, but usually since my Nan is welsh and super froogle/cheap we got rice crispy chocolate easter bunnies the next day on sale LOLLL

Whats worse is my friend M-j who I grew up with in Toronto whose parents used to freeze their kids halloween candies and give them out to the neighbourhood kids the next year LOL

My nan is also the one responsible for so many young child birthday cards. She buys them in bulk when they're onsale, so we get them with things like little adorable bunnies and sayings for very young children on them LOL.

We always put carrot seeds and flower seeds in our kids basket. Then they could grow more carrots for the Bunny.:)

Christian holidays are rather strange, imo- and I am Christian. Don't even get me started on Christmas not being Jesus' real birthday.

 I agree! Although Passover plays a part in Easter it too. At least the dates.

I really like the idea of the planting stuff. Our dollar store has mini garden tool sets for $2 and seed packs for a quarter. I think I'm going to grab 2 of those for my kids & stuff it with a little of this, a little of that. They seem to get a bigger kick out of lots of small things anyways and they are fascinated by the plants growing.
