Did you make seed tape, or just lay out TP, and sprinkle the seed on the TP so you could see it, before covering it?
I have made seed tapes for little seed from a roll of toile paper. (new, of course ) Lay it out, spray very lightly to barely dampen. Place seed, fold the length in half. I put it on wax paper. you can leave in warm place for softening seeds or not. Trench ground, lay in seeded TP.
Beets are hard & slow starters. Moisten on wet paper towels for a couple days, then plant.
I like his ideas but, doubt my carrots will get a row. Maybe a tub. I want some cute little rounds carrots.
One thing I do to help my carrots along: after sowing and watering them in well, I cover the bed with a layer of cardboard. I keep this cardboard moist, and check the bed daily. This speeds germination and cuts the weed competition.
I bought carrots seeds last year and discovered it's seed tape, which was really nice! But the carrots turned out to be some freaky shapes and sizes, so I think the problem here is the soil
