We have been getting rid of lots of stuff via Craigs list and freecycle.
One guy that picked up a bunch of stuff 2 days ago, has been trying to chat with me ever since.
I blocked his email, and just now found he has been trying to instant message me too.
I do have a separate email for those accounts, so my main one is not on the locals radar.

Time to start sending the rest of the items into town with dh for pick up.

With dh looking at an away job, I think now is the time for me to really learn how to use the .45.

I hope this guy is harmless and just needs to learn better social skills. Sometimes people don't know where "the line" is.

Amen on both ideas. There are a lot of idiots out there, and you have to be on your guard for them. Good luck.

Your dh needs to handle this, firmly. And quickly. And clearly. Stalkers are not fun, but when they know a man is paying attention and protective, they tend to go away. They usually want an easy target.

I had a friend that was giving away stuff on Yahoo's Freecycle Groups, which I utilize frequently. She advertised a nice 4 drawer dresser she was willing to part with, a young man called and she told him she would leave it out in her backyard. Much to her surprise, the following morning not only was her dresser gone, but so was all of her lawn furniture, her gas BBQ, her tulips planted in really cute containers, and HER DOG :somad. Unfortunately we live in a world where we have to be VERY careful. If you have a gun and know how to use it, keep your gun close to you, just in case...:hugs

When I am freecycling or selling stuff on craigslist, I either meet people at Walmart or at the copy shop. The only people who come to the house are BYC members I have chatted with on a regular basis.

I usually don't worry about creepy stalkers, I am more concerned with someone taking off with my birds or my bbq.

Wow, agree with everything said here. I hope it's nothing too, but I hope your husband can deal with it. There are strange scary people out there, and especially if you are going to be alone at the house with your baby ...

And amazing about the guy cleaning your friend out. I just don't get it -- you be nice to folks and GIVE them something, and they thank you by stealing. Sigh ...

:(

Be careful, BubB!!!

I agree with Free. Let hubby deal with this guy quickly and firmly. Also, yes, definitely learn to use that .45. I am so sorry you are going through this. Be safe!!!

When we list stuff on Craigslist, my DH is the one that handles it for just that reason. We don't allow anyone to come over if he isn't home and I just stay away.

Free hit it right on the money....get hubby involved!

My hubs caught himself a little mini stalker once. He was selling some old computers from his company....people ( from CL) came to the house and picked thru what they wanted.

Some lady took a liking to him and started emailing him....a lot. With weird personal info, not inappropriate, just personal as if they were BFFS.
Remembr the term 'level jumping' from Seinfeld, referring to friendships quickly jumping to a very intimate level? Yeah.

Weird. He quickly extinguished her little flame for him. :gig
