I made this tonight and it was delicious, but I'm going to get uppity and correct Bon Appetit magazine about some things.

-They specifically say to add the juice from the tomatoes. I had to make a sort of paper towel twisted wand and soak up juice before serving or it would have been soup
-Also on the wateriness topic, next time I will add a bit of tomato paste. It was delicious, but the tomato was more pieces in thin liquid and less pieces in good goopy sauce.
-Bacon. Necessary.
-The potatoes were good, but something about their presence bothered me. I think turnips make more sense.

How do you feel about turnips instead of potatoes?
Or are they just as carby?
They are not as bad as the taters. I also use rutabagas instead of taters.
