Oooh, and is that a bullseye in the yolk there! ? !

Congratulations! I took about a dozen pictures of my first egg and sent them to pretty much everyone I know. I think I even included the measurements like you would for a newborn.

i think so.... i took about 20 pictures trying to get one that was really clear so i could ask the eggsperts, but none of them came out really good.

that yolk is from one of my poor over-romanced EEs (the boys are like a slobbering mob around the EE girls, so much so that i have to give them special time-outs to let them rest) so i figured it would be fertilized- unless the boys were sterile! looks like at least one of them is doing his job!

The green eggs are especially fun, in my opinion.

Hey, I heard that fertilized eggs are supposed to be the new big trend . . . like people are looking to buy them and think they are better than unfertilized. :hu

well, that's good to know since that's how i'll be offering them for sale. unless the Big Boys keep acting like teenage horndogs and end up in the freezer!

my first "almost" dozen. i ate the first 2, one was broken in the nest box, and i added the large store-bought for comparison. i've collected 14 since last Wednesday!

Congrats! :clap

The egg hunt is the best part of my day.

Monday I found my first blue egg from one of my two Amerucana pullets. EGGciting! :D

ETA: I do love a colorfully filled egg carton. ;)
