We got some elk meat (steaks, I believe), from a friend. I'm looking for a good recipe. He said that because it is so lean, he usually wraps them in bacon. I don't eat pork, so I am looking for a good alternative. Thanks!

I'd cook them just like I would venison...flour em and fry em! If you want to get a bit more fancy, you'd have to ask someone who actually owns a cookbook! :D

no elk around here unless I go hunting at the little zoo down the road, hmm...they won't like that..LOL

never cooked it or really chatted about it cause not a critter in my area. I would have to order online and I bet it ain't cheap I guess.

We use elk exactly like venison. Our steaks are boneless, so we pan fry them super hot and super fast, flipping only once from once side to the other. Super delicious with fried onions, mushrooms and peppers on the side. :p
