I know a lot of people that I refer to as friends, but quite truthfully, I don't know if they're really friends, acquaintances, or something in the middle.

DS's team loses in 7 innings today, 8-4 in the divisional championship game.

The other team was tough (undefeated) and hit the ball harder than any other team we faced this season. Our boys had them on the ropes the whole game, even after giving up 6 runs in the fourth inning with two outs. The boys got glove leather on 5 batted balls in the inning, any one of which that could ended the inning, including a screaming liner that almost hit DS in the head barnie he almost had it!), but they just couldn't seal the deal. A blown suicide squeeze and 4 stupid base running errors didn't help our scoring chances, either. (DS went 1-2 with a double and a sacrifice).

The boys did awesome, though, we are very proud of them, 14-3 on the season and the only two teams they lost to this season are on their way to the next round at regionals.

Canning season is officially underway here in my corner of the world!

Picked all the zucchini this morning. We have 17 pints of zucchini relish cooling now (I just heard 3 pop!), 16 bags of shredded for bread recipe in the freezer, 4 loaves of bread just out of the oven, two cut up with yellow squash ready to go on the grill with dinner, and almost half of what I picked still sitting on the counter.

15 lbs of blueberries in the 'frig, and I haven't touched the red beets and banana peppers yet (still in the garden)

ETA: I can't count, 17 pints.

Congratulations on your pickin's. We just grilled zucchini and yellow squash for dinner too.

Just shredded zucchini for quiche and some for the freezer. Your haul puts me to shame though! LOL
