FarmerJamie - A new beginning

Not many "hoods" have hand-painted "lost pig..." signs hanging on a fence by an intersection. :gig

It is a colorful area. I forgot to give you the address of the guy with the light up metal UFO on his roof...

Glad you got home safely Jamie! Sounds like ya'll had a great visit :)

Summer's winding down and I'm looking around at the little projects that didn't get finished. I had started a rework of a flower bed w/water feature in March, but circumstances put it on hold. I was looking at the weeds yesterday and got a little irritated at myself because it didn't get done yet. As I'm making coffee this morning, I stood at the kitchen window, watching about 10 goldfinches flitting in and out of the weed patch, gorging on weed seeds. What a beautiful sight!

On the garden front - ate the first cantaloupes out of the garden yesterday. :drool I think I may actually have about 1/2 bushel of tomatoes finally really and some peppers. I may see if I have enough to make salsa. Black beans are about ready to pick, and I have volunteer pumpkins out the wazoo.

Where has the summer gone?

This year we just had to "let go" the projects that just aren't going to get done. Not enough hours in the day and DH's work is very demanding. We decided that things will get done when they get done. The list will remain but it will take longer than we originally thought.

Thanks for reminding me Jamie!!! I HAVE TO get dye work done today!!!!

*runs off to prewash all the clothes*

Last night about 2 am, we had an intense storm blow through. Lost power a couple of times, had some minor damage with the coops/runs that I fixed this morning. Some of the taller plants in the garden took a beating. North and west of us got it worse.

How did you other NE Ohio fare?

Have a great day!

It blew thru here HARD, but so far so good. The only damage I had was the shade cloth was blown off the chicken run, and was laying across the street in the neighbors front yard. That and a few small limbs came out of the trees out front.
