Fellow soap makers.

I'd like to be in....but I haven't made it yet. How does a soap swap work, how many bars should I make for this?
 
It depends on how many people join in. You send a bar for each participant and most swap admins will require you to send one for yourself as well to make it easier on them to pack the soaps. Basically you send your box of x number of soaps to the admin, then pay for return shipping. They take each package and put a bar in for each of the boxes they're sending out. You end up with one of your soap bars back (if admin requires it) and then one from each other participant. :)
 
I was thinking we could do this swap like the towel swaps on BYC. You tell me how many times you want to sign up and then I make a list in the order you all sign up. You then send your item(s) to the person above you on the list. That way if we have 10 people sign up you only have to send soap to the person(s) above you not all 10. Is that clear as mud or what?

I definately want to sign up. I just made another batch of soap last night. Dark chocolate scent colored with cocoa powder. It's the first time I have ever used any sort of color and I think it came out pretty well.

I tend to make my bars a little on the small size to feel comfortable in my hand, is this going to be a problem? Should I send two bars per person to even it up?

It is up to you what you send. I know I will be adding a bonus surprize in my package. :D

I am going to start another sign up thread.
 
I make goat's milk soap and I will be making some batches on Sunday (so will be couple of weeks until cured).

I'll look for the sign up thread!
 
Just signed up! I made a patchouli batch this week to start curing. I am aiming for a batch every week from now until who knows when. Our Christmas fair sign up at work just came out...
