i haven't had to do much for taxes for a long time (if you don't earn taxable income you don't have to file if nobody is withholding taxes) but this year i do have to file even if i do not owe any taxes again. just because i withdrew some money from my Health Savings Account.

there's a lot of added things but most of them i can skip over easily so it is just a matter of making sure i don't miss anything else.

it can be intimidating trying to do your own taxes but i've done them myself all my life, except for these past years... i just go down the forms and read the instructions and take care of one issue at a time.

today i made it to the end of the form and will fill everything out in ink on fresh copies and get it mailed tomorrow. at least that is the current plan. :)

haha, so much for plans... we didn't have any envelopes and on top of that the state recommends that even if you don't owe any thing that if you do file a federal return you should also file a state return to "eliminate unnecessary correspondence from Treasury".
