I have a labrador, a very large labrador (no fat on him, 50lbs and 5 months old...) so he drinks a LOT of water and it just increases with age. Should I get the Drinkwell Big Dog fountain (I have the 360 for my cats) or would the 5 gallon Petmate automatic waterer be good? Im just worried that he is going to get it dirty too often. I change his current bowl with every meal.

What do you use? Thank you!

we tried the big 5gal waterer for my pitbull. the bubble noises scared him and he wouldn't use it. :p

if you're worried about it getting dirty though, a fountain would be a pro/con for that... pro, it'll have a filter to get some of the dirt out of the water, but con, the filter will get clogged with dirt and slow the waterflow.

i just change my dog's water bowl out a couple times a day. that way i know it's always pretty fresh and clean.
