there are some devices that don't like a long button push. i had to teach Mom a few weeks ago how to turn on and off the tv (which we've had for at least 10 years now) that you just have to tap the button and not hold it down, because if you hold it down it will turn on and turn back off or vice versa.

Truth!

Sigh...grands left a few minutes ago. We had a good visit and really enjoy each other's company. I just can't go on enough about what good kids they are and what great young adults they're growing into.

Have a posting up for goats and I keep getting random interest. But, I want to know why folks are so dang rude. They say they're coming and never show up. They want extra pictures then don't even respond after I go outside and spend time following goats around to get better pics. If they don't like 'em they could at least say they're no longer interested. They call/text at odd hours...argh! I could go on and on. I need to just eat all the extras and not deal with people, lol.

Supposed to get a cold front tonight I think. Ok, as long as we don't get a freeze. I'm not ready for a freeze. Nope - don't want it. I think our lows will be in the mid 40's. I can deal with that.

It got cold overnight. Well, I should say cold-ish. It's about 45 out there now. Goats are running around all puffed up and fluffy.

We went to DS's house yesterday. We had a good time and for once we weren't the first ones to leave. DDIL's family left before us and we stayed until about 10. I had a couple of adult beverages over the course of the evening and I let DH have a weak one. We did karaoke and just had a blast. I was a grouch earlier in the day, but having some adult time did wonders for my mood. DH was able to conversate with someone besides me and he had a good time too. It was nice to be able to take my eyes off of him for a minute and have a little slice of "normal." It was rejuvenating, lol.

I think DH has PT today - but he can't remember. I've asked all the therapists to please text instead of calling for appts because at least then he can go back and re-read the texts. Or maybe I should just have them contact me. Sigh...

Is today really Monday? Where did the weekend go? Hmmm... I spent Friday waiting for a no-show goat buyer. But, I guess he wasn't a buyer if he no-showed, lol.

Son came by Saturday afternoon and fixed an electrical issue in one of the guest bedrooms. A problem with an outlet. He changed the outlet and voila - electricity to all the outlets. So nice having an electrician in the family.

Yesterday was the Texans game. Not pretty (as usual lately) but a win is a win!

Today I tackled a job that I've wanted to get to for a couple months. Way back in July when Hurricane Beryl hit, I lost a huge portion of a huge tree. It's been chopped up and out of the way for a while now - but I wasn't finished. Waited for the temps to drop, and they have, so I tackled it again. I have most of it picked up and stacked for the fire pit (that I have yet to order). I also saved a bunch of smaller sticks that I normally would've disposed of, but they'll work for kindling and also for the rocket stove.

I've been "shopping" for a new fire pit for awhile but haven't found the perfect one yet. Still looking... I need to get online and hope to find a Cyber Monday deal.

Better get to shopping!

I have a sick goat. That's not a frequent occurrence here. She didn't really eat breakfast. Bad news when a goat doesn't eat. Kept an eye on her for several hours and she didn't move around or go munch hay. Took her temp and it was a little elevated so gave her an antibiotic injection. Also gave her a little Dulcolax. Her rumen feels a little doughy so maybe that'll jump start something. She's a special doe that makes gorgeous babies so I really hope this doesn't take a negative turn. :fl

Goat (Poppy) was up when I went out this morning. She took a small nibble of feed but turned up her nose at the rest of it. That's ok - I don't want her to eat if she has tummy trouble. She'll get another antibiotic injection when I go back outside. I'll give her some more DulcoLax and then follow up later with probiotics to help her rumen get back on track. No idea what got her off track, but gotta get her better!

I'll finish up the wood stacking this morning. Shouldn't be more than an hour since I got most of it knocked out yesterday. Also ordered a fire pit that has a grill. Anxious to get it set up! Have some back porch clean-up and rearranging to do first. Really need new cushions for the furniture but might get away with throwing a sheet over the seats until spring. Always something...

Poked around in the broccoli plants yesterday and saw baby broccoli coming on! Excited about that because there is no comparison between grocery store broccoli and fresh cut. So. Darn. Good!!!

Planted a couple rows of carrots but got hardly any germination. Think I'll give up on carrots this year and plant some turnips or rutabagas in that spot. Might be too late, but what the heck. If you don't try - you don't know.

DH has PT this morning. Guess I should try to make the house presentable before the guy gets here. I worked outsie all day yesterday so not much got done in here. Need a clone of myself...didn't find any on black friday or cyber monday. Ugh.
