It's so funny - cuz I remember when I was young and all I wanted was to fit in, be like everyone else - and now the very idea of that is terrifying! Don't wanna be a sheeple...not gonna do it... gonna continue to be weird and wacky and enjoy being meeeeeeeeeeeee!
Happy Monday! Like I mentioned - I'm OFFFFFFFF (work) today!
I've got two more pens to finish, which means I've got chickens to catch to install in the new pens.
I've been thinking (scary huh?) I've got a big ol bag of 'deer peas' that I've been sprouting for the chickens... I'm thinking I might broadcast some into an area of the garden that the pigs rooted up for me. I'm hoping they'll make either a nice cover crop to be tilled under if I decide to plant that area - or they'll make good chicken/goat browse if I just let them grow. Or I could let 'em grow and then put chickens/goats on there to browse down before I till 'em under. Oh my, lol, the possibilities are endless! Anyway, I think it's worth a try.
Gotta get started.

fem, I think I wanted to fit in to the crowd for about a month, then after I met "the crowd" I got bored and wandered off I don't fit in anywhere now, I CAN fit in anywhere for a little while, and then I get bored and wander off still 
The only places I truly fit in, are places that are perpetually changing and there is always something more to learn. I like change

I know some 'other' folks wouldn't understand how working outside all day can be considered fun - but 'we' know, don't we SSers???
I finished off the chicken pens so now I have 4 new pens for separating breeds. Two of the new pens have new residents already. I want to hatch some Faverolles, so I've got them together. Hopefully, they'll get over the shock of the move and get back into laying mode real soon. I'd rather they brood eggs for me, so I don't have to, but however it works out I want some of those cute little chickies!
I also planted some winter-type deer peas that I hope will be either a good cover crop or chicken/goat browse. FIrst - they gotta come up! I just broadcast the seeds in the mud and kinda stomped on 'em, so if that's not sufficient then we won't have any peas at all.
I've already fed all the critters - just have milking left to do. I need to get done early - cuz I need to get 'girl-i-fied' before tomorrow.... and my hands are looking like serious farm hands right now. They need a good soaking in something to soften and bleach out all the dirt. Fingernails, at least the ones that are surviving, need some of that special girly treatment too. I spend so much time outside doing so much farm work that I deserve a little time to get girl-i-fied before I have to go back out in public tomorrow.
That reminds me of a conversation that DH and I had before we went to the Caymens. I was packing my shoes - all 8 pair of them (for a 5 day trip) and he made the mistake of commenting on that. Soooo - I told him that most of the time I work as hard as any guy - doing what a lot of folks would consider 'guy' work - so he should be happy that I was gonna be a 'girl' for 5 days! He didn't make any more comments, and I did get to be 100% girl for those 5 days, lol.
I guess before I start the girlification process I need to go finish the burn pile. We had a giant pile of branches that came pouring out of the trees with the last big wind.... they made a mess. I started a tiny little fire that I have to keep feeding for a little longer.
No wonder I'm a little tired... I'm looking forward to a glass of wine and a nice hot soak!

I did sandwiches. Thats all I had time for too. Understand your feelings about having room for various chicken projects. I'm on it on my end too. So excited!!! And FEM...great idea about the soak and wine. I think I have just enough time before work to get away with it myself. Just one glass. I'm taking my bath hot, with scented candles. Time to RELAX!!
