Had my daughter and two of her three kids here this weekend! Yay! Can NOT get enough of them. Yesterday DH took the grandson to Galveston to the train museum. They spent hours there. They came home tired but satisfied - they had their "man" fix of big mechanical thingys, lol. I took granddaughter to see the latest "Ice Age" movie. It was a good day and yesterday evening we headed off to my son's house for ribs and karaoke. They go so well together, lol. My 'grands' really go into singing and they hogged the microphones all night, lol! It was priceless.
Got up this morning and started paying more attention to the critters. I had intended to worm and do coccidia prevention on some doelings this weekend anyway - so when I foud the ones I intended to treat were having loose stool I had to get with it. Also put some Neo-Med in their drinking water. If that doesn't make a difference by tomorrow I'll add an antibiotic to the treatment plan. They're bouncy and have good appetites, so I'm not overly concerned, but can't let this get the upper hand, especially in this kind of heat.
We've been enjoying some volunteer cucumbers. We've had plenty so I took one that I thought was a little past it's prime outside to feed to the pigs. My grandson was giving me the strangest look and asked why I was feeding that cucumber to the pig. He practically snatched it out of my hands and chowed down on it while feeding the chickens. I loved it! He was NOT about to 'waste' that cucumber on a pig!
I promised they can come back and spend a few days with me before school starts. It'll have to be soon - cuz school starts third week in August. Summer went by so quickly for them. It can't be over quickly enough for ME, lol.
I'll be taking my parents for their annual physical exam(s) tomorrow. I'll be glad to get that out of the way, and I know they will be too. I'll probably take them to lunch somewhere afterwards because they have to fast before their appointment.
We got word that my dad's twin brother is not doing well at all. They're saying he'll probably live less than 30 more days. I hope he can get past his b'day which is Aug 7. My dad wants go go see his brother before he passes and I've offered to take them - but my mom is not on board with it at all. She doesn't think dad is up for the trip. I already told her that if he asks me I don't think I can tell him no. Also, I have a 'feeling' that when his twin brother goes that my dad won't be far behind. Not really sure why I think that - because my dad is in amazing health for 87 (nearly 88). His biggest issue is that he's deaf...but he doesn't 'do' much of anything but eat and sleep these days. And mom mentioned last time I saw her that it would be better off if she "kicked the bucket". It's hard to be them...they've outlived one of their children, most of their siblings and all of their friends.
Laundry is calling my name...have to get something clean to wear tomorrow.
Happy Sunday, ya'll.
