I wish I could mow it! But, they call it their 'bird sanctuary' and don't want it cut at all. At this point - my tractor wouldn't get through there.... they'll need a bulldozer someday.
 
It's mostly boring, lol. Sometimes when I'm trying to remember a date I'll go back through it. Some of the stuff that was so interesting/exciting to me at that time just seems boring now, lol!
 
I bet you're right that he's protecting things. Is there a way to give him more access but without letting him into the neighbors? Hard to imagine your layout, but you can't fault him for trying to do his job. Maybe a trail cam would help identify things. Think the neighbors would be a little more willing to change their ways if they knew their field was harboring bobcats?? Birds can deal with much more than just tall grass... and frankly, at that point it's a tick sanctuary too! UGH!
 
I was having the same thoughts as hqueen13. If you can give him access to the pigs, that may help some. So sorry to hear about the loss of the piglets :hugs
 
I'll have to figure that out. He 'technically' can get close to the pigs - I mean he can go over any fence on the place, lol. But, I've been surprised, pleasantly so, that he stays with the kids almost constantly. You shoulda seen the look on his face when I was disbudding. He was outside the barn and when that kid started yelling he came tearing into the barn like a locomotive, snarling and foaming at the mouth....geeze! I'm glad he likes me because when he saw I was the one making the baby cry he stopped dead in his tracks, laid down and gave me the evil eye until it was over!

Almost forgot - I saw some baby chicks under a broody last night. Hope they're still there - I totally didn't even have time to look this morning...
 
Yay! Glad you're here!

I only walked a little less than 4,000 steps today - so disappointed. So, what did I do for lunch? Pasta and chocolate cake, lol. That's the answer!

I'm sure tomorrow will be different since I'll be home allll day. I have GOT to disbud the last little doeling born. She's a tiny little Nigi so I don't think there will be a problem. I shaved her head last weekend and there was absolutely no bumpies at all, so I put it off until this weekend. She'll get her first cocci preventative too.

DH did NOT have a good day. Started with a low blood sugar and just didn't get any better after that. He walked right into a low hanging branch in a pen and just about knocked himself out... I did NOT laugh...until he turned his head. Poor baby!

He's in bed and I promised I'd head that way in just a minute. Us old folks gotta get our rest, ya know!
