Service was this morning. Poor dad, I had a transport service come and get him because it was just so much simpler than trying to transfer him out of his chair, into a vehicle, back into his wheelchair, and then back into a vehicle again.....just wouldn't work. This was so much easier and well worth the cost. We got to the Mausoleum and dad kept asking whose funeral we were at? Poor guy - so I put a program in his hand with her pic on front of it. That was tough. But he got through it. At the end he wanted the casket opened so he could see her. That's why I wanted it open to begin with - even though it's "traditional" at graveside services for it to be closed. (Even though we were inside a mausoleum not "technically" at graveside.... sigh.) So, they opened it and he just cried and cried. As sad as that was it was what he needed to actually finally register it.
DH did a great job on the eulogy. There was laughing and crying - just the way it should be I think.
I'm tired and glad that it's over for now.
