I did get in a 2 hour nap!
I didn't get outside to the critters until around 3pm because of the doc visit and waiting around for my meds and then a nap when I got home. Went straight to check on the new kiddos and mama and discovered that she hadn't passed her placenta... GRRRRR!! It had been 21 hours at that point so I was not pleased at all. I had some oxytocin so I gave her an injection. She wasn't really fond of having more contractions but within about 90 minutes she'd passed it. So glad she did cuz it was nasty lookingl. I started her on antibiotics too even though she's acting ok. I mean, she had a dead baby in there that had obviously been dead for awhile and then retained the placenta - so antibiotics it is!
I got a few more bales out of the trailer and into the barn but just couldn't finish it by myself. So, DH stepped up when he got home and we knocked it out.
No big plans for tomorrow other than to watch it rain if the forecasters are correct. Supposed to be heavy rain and lots of it. We will see. They said it should be outta here by evening so if they're right we might get the last chicken butchered and a mess of quail too.
May or may not go see dad tomorrow. I feel horrible because I haven't been there since Saturday - but just wasn't a good idea to go while I was so puny. Hopefully by tomorrow, with antibiotics on board, I won't be contagious. Weather will be a determining factor in whether we venture out on the streets. Heck, the weather folks haven't exactly been on point lately so it might not even be bad here.
@Mini Horses - you posted while I was typing! Yes, I must have had a target on my head, lol. And, yes, DH did help me! He does come in handy sometimes.
