Rain overnight after missing the severe storms that went north of Houston yesterday. Didn't really need the rain, certainly don't need the mud - but that's life. Glad I got a new round bale up out a couple days ago.

Another follow-up dermatologist appt. for DH today. Hope this is the last one for now. Every. Time. we have an appt with this doc it's raining - pouring rain usually. UGH!

Think I'll pick up some crickets today, lol. Might not get out to the pond for a couple more days with all the mud. This will give me a chance to check out the tips on keeping crickets alive. Silly, I know, but fishing is calming for me and the pond is a place of peace. We're coming up on a rough time of year for me. However, DS's b'day is Saturday and I won't let my sadness intrude on a happy day for him.

Sold a couple of bucklings the other day and should have 3 doelings going this weekend. That'll help with the feed bill.

Thanks ya'll. I appreciate it. It'll be a rough few months, but I'll get through it. Hard to believe we're coming up on two years.

Had a guy come pick up some bucklings last week. He said he wanted more. I generally say 'great' and think I'll probably never see 'm again. Thankfully, this guy was different. He came back yesterday and got the 3 doelings I had available. Said he wants more....ok! That's 5 less mouths to feed. And, unfortunately, had to let go of one of my older does yesterday. It's hard losing the old ones that have been with me for over a decade, but it's made easier knowing it's the right thing for her.

Grandsons graduation is coming up in a couple weeks. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to go, but DH's sister is going to come and stay here with DH while I'm gone. DS and DDIL will be attending also. Ceremony is at 9am so we're going up the night before. His sister is sweet for agreeing to stay with DH, but she occasionally has seizures. ARGH! Maybe I need someone to come take care of them both!

Need to go feed and then I think I'll try to introduce a couple crickets to a couple bass!

You need a day away :hugs
I do! I only hope I can relax and enjoy it. I've already started a list for Sis-in-law. Not necessarily a "to do" list, but more of a "what-to-do in case" list. How to deal with Low blood sugar, how to deal with high blood sugar...that sort of thing. She needs to remind him to use his cane or walker because he forgets. :hu She'll also need a crash course on how to use his Omni pod controller and how to give him a bolus. DH can generally do it, but if he's having a bad brain day, he can be dangerous with it. He overdosed himself on insulin a few weeks ago. The consequences of doing that - he was forced to eat cabs all day to keep his sugar up, lol.

Sis in law is coming on the 22nd and I won't leave until late afternoon on the 23rd so she'll have some time to get accustomed to the routine. I'll be back on the 24th so surely they can get through 24 hours alone. I'll feed the critters right before I leave Friday afternoon. They'll miss their grain the morning of the 24th, but will be fed again as soon as I get home. Hay will be available 24/7 - they'll be fine.

Woke up to light rain this morning. Should pass quickly and I can get out and do morning chores.

I need to move some chicks around today. I've got two different hatches of silkies in the incubator along with 4 quail. The oldest/biggest silkies need to go outside. Hope they enjoy moving day!
